Bloom Academy Charter School exists to provide a high quality, rigorous, and joyful educational experience to students in grades kindergarten to fifth grade. We are a new and independent school seeking to add deeply mission aligned, smart, hardworking, and emotionally intelligent people to our founding staff. We opened August 2019 with a cohort of kindergarten and first graders, and now serve scholars in grades K-4 the 22-23 school year. We will continue to add a grade level every year until we reach the fifth grade.

Bloom Academy Scholar Recruitment Coordinator

Driven by our mission to ensure every child succeeds, the Scholar Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all families and students have a pleasant and operationally efficient experience while on Bloom Academy’s campus. Joining our team as a founder provides a unique opportunity to help build the culture and legacy of Bloom Academy as it becomes an enduring and premier education option for generations of students to come.

The Scholar Recruitment Coordinator will have the following key responsibilities:

Enrollment

  • Owning the enrollment process in order to meet 100% campus enrollment and student persistence goals
  • Execute student recruitment strategies that target families with Kindergarten-4th Grade children within a 10-mile radius of the assigned campus
  • Attend community events and informational fairs to inform families and promote brand awareness of Bloom Academy Charter School
  • Execute off-site presentations to daycares, housing authorities, community centers, youth groups, parent networking event, and other community organizations
  • Participate in neighborhood walks and door-to-door presentations in neighborhoods near Bloom Academy Charter School
  • Participate in tabling events at conventions, festivals, parent networking events, retail establishments, or stop and talk
  • Organize and conduct cold calling campaigns a minimum of 3 times per year
  • Assist parents in completing an application via SchoolMint
  • Host bi-weekly campus open houses
  • Monitor quality of applications submitted and resolves issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain and cultivate a solid wait list after lottery by providing communication and sustained recruitment efforts

100% of Enrollment Milestones Completed On-Time and To Goal

  • Manage the re-registration process by distributing communications and following up with families until 100% of families have responded
  • Post-Lottery follow up with recruited and blindly selected families to offer their spot and secure their acceptance until achieving 100% acceptance
  • Oversee Welcome to Bloom orientation planning which includes logistics, production, content coordination, and attendance management to achieve 100% attendance
  • Manage registration process in partnership with the campus Registrar by distributing communications, following up with families, and supporting the collection and input of registration documents until 100% registration is complete
  • Develop a recapture campaign to approach families that had withdrawn throughout the school year to meet goal of 90% new student persistence
  • Monitor progress towards goals and make meaningful and timely adjustments in order to meet recruitment benchmarks

100% of New Families attend a New family onboarding event

  • Ensure all new families are effectively on-boarded from the time they apply with ongoing communications and invitation to tours and/or open houses
  • Monitor parent participation throughout the recruiting year
  • Collaborate with the Campus Culture Team on recruitment and engagement events to greet and nurture relationships with new families.
  • Coordinate Info Sessions and Open Houses to on-board new families.
  • Alongside Welcome to Bloom develop plans with Operations Manager to ensure all new families attend a new family onboarding event by the 10th day from school starts

New Student Persistence/Campus Partnerships

  • Learn the intricacies of the Bloom Academy Charter School model to ensure all families know about Bloom Academy’s program
  • Develop long-lasting relationships with families
  • Assess community assets within a 10-mile radius of the campus and establishes novel community partnerships with these for the recruitment benefit of the campus
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with community partners to sustain and expand upon new partnerships
  • Maintain a current list of partnerships and contact information

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Deep alignment with school’s mission and core values
  • A staunch belief that all students regardless of race or socio-economic status can achieve at high levels and be positive contributors to their communities
  • A successful background check in compliance with state law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all school stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and social media platforms (Instagram & Facebook)
  • Anticipated start date is June 2022
