Bloom Academy Charter School exists to provide a high quality, rigorous, and joyful educational experience to students in grades K to 5. We are a new and independent school seeking to add deeply mission aligned, smart, hardworking, and emotionally intelligent people to our founding staff. We opened in August 2019, to a cohort of kindergarten and first grade students and will educate students in grades K-4 in the 22-23 school year.

The Bloom Academy Operations Manager

Driven by our mission to ensure every child succeeds, the Operations Manager will be responsible for establishing and enhancing protocols, procedures, and logistical plans to promote the smooth and effective operation of Bloom Academy. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for other important duties related to compliance, reporting, and business operations including data entry and record keeping. The Operations Manager role is CRITICAL to the success of our school. The Operations Manager will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Working with the Director of Operations and Head of School to create procedures and routines that drive toward the school’s mission of producing outstanding student outcomes.
  • Supporting teaching staff by ensuring all materials and items are ready and available to execute high quality lessons.
  • Ensuring Bloom Academy complies with all Texas Education Agency policies and mandates.
  • Ensuring strict confidentiality of personal student information and data in accordance with the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as other relevant state laws.
  • Creating and managing systems of documentation to ensure the school is in full compliance with all regulations.
  • Creating and leading school wide professional learning sessions on protocols and procedures.
  • Assisting with the execution of recruitment and enrollment plans which includes creating marketing materials, neighborhood canvassing, and communicating with prospective parents.
  • Assisting with onboarding new hires and explaining operational plans and procedures
  • Planning and overseeing school events including home visits, school tours, registration nights, and community open houses.
  • Managing the school’s social media presence and campaigns.
  • Creating and executing a system for inventory of technology and for technology maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Setting, communicating, and supporting staff on a high standard of expectations for classroom and building appearance.
  • Managing the school’s calendar and making regular updates to the school calendar.
  • Overseeing maintenance and materials requests.
  • Managing the requisition and purchase order process
  • Overseeing and interfacing with all vendors and service providers (including food services and janitorial services) including managing all RFPs, purchase orders, checks, and other related items.
  • Creating purchase orders, tracking shipments, and following-up on administrative needs with vendors, including ordering, receipt and maintenance of supplies.
  • Ensuring student safety through the creation and practice of emergency plans.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • A staunch belief that all students regardless of race or socio-economic status can achieve at high levels and be positive contributors to their communities required
  • Experience working on a school-based operations team and or experience working in community development preferred
  • Experience as a teacher in a high needs/and or urban setting preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Experience with business operations and finance including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all school stakeholders
  • A demonstrated record of operating at a high level in a fast paced and demanding school setting
  • Knowledge of office equipment and services including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, phones, and software
  • Open and receptive to feedback about performance and self-reflective about ways to improve
  • A desire to develop, grow, and evolve professionally
  • Deep alignment with school’s mission and core values
