Bloom Academy Charter School exists to provide a high quality, rigorous, and joyful educational experience to students in grades kindergarten to fifth grade. We are a new and independent school seeking to add deeply mission aligned, smart, hardworking, and emotionally intelligent people to our founding staff. Bloom Academy opened its doors for the first time in August 2019, to a cohort of Kindergarten and first grade students in Houston, Texas. Bloom Academy is currently providing educational experiences to kindergarten-4th grade scholars for the 22-23 school year.
Bloom Academy Receptionist
Driven by our mission to ensure every child succeeds, the Founding Receptionist will be responsible for ensuring that all families and students have a pleasant and operationally efficient experience while on Bloom Academy’s campus. Joining our team as a founder provides a unique opportunity to help build the culture and legacy of Bloom Academy as it becomes an enduring and premier education option for generations of students to come.
The Receptionist will have the following key responsibilities:
Manage all Front Office Operations
- Managing the school entrance & main office
- Managing Bloom Academy’s visitor policy
- Maintaining copies of forms, event information, and answers to frequently asked questions about Bloom Academy Charter School
- Maintaining and administering the telephone system by answering and processing all incoming calls in an efficient and rapid manner
- Be solutions oriented in managing telephone system
- Maintaining an appealing physical environment including reception area, storage rooms, conference rooms, and other rooms as requested
- Filtering and distributing office mail and packages
- Assisting with day-to-day operations (including arrival, dismissal, lunch, professional development sessions and after school activities)
Enrollment/Scholar Recruitment
- Assisting with student recruitment efforts
- Organizing essential enrollment documents for families
- Collaborating with Operations Team members on high-quality recruiting events to greet new families
- Collaborating with Operations Team members to host high-quality information sessions and open houses to onboard new families
- Monitoring parent participation throughout the recruiting year by measuring attendance at events, engagement with communications, and response time via SchoolMint
- Assisting with student attendance/tardy tracking
- Assisting with developing a robust phone banking program that can elicit the support of campus teams and parent volunteers
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree required
- Deep alignment with school’s mission and core values
- A staunch belief that all students regardless of race or socio-economic status can achieve at high levels and be positive contributors to their communities
- A successful background check in compliance with state law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all school stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and social media platforms (Instagram & Facebook)
